Netting the Allotment!!

Well the seeds are coming through thick and fast...(in the trays in the garden and on the allotment)...unfortunately the nature is taking it's toll again on the fresh pea shoots so I went on an excursion into town to look for some hoops and net.

Now you wouldn't think it would be that hard to find hoops would you...well you would be wrong!!! I looked in all of the local stores that sell gardening stuff nd couldn't find them ANYWHERE!!
I knew what I was after as I had seen them on other peoples allotments but just couldn't buy any...the netting was easy to find and I got some from Wilkos but after visiting, Wilkos, Homebase, Poundstretcher, B&Q and Home Bargains I still had no hoops...what good were the nets going to do me if I had no framework???

Not to be out done I finally bought some very cheap little fancy border edge fencing....it won't last once the shoots really start to grow but at least it will protect those tender new shoots for the time being from the wretched nature that seems to love my allotment nearly as much as me!!
