Allotment grows on it's own!!!

Well I haven't had chance to get back to the allotment since last weekend when I first noticed the now confirmed powdery mildew on my marrow and cucumber plants. Not getting down there is driving me mad as I know that the plot is continuing to grow without me and I know that most of that growth is going to be weeds!!!!!!!!

I have had a productive couple of days in my garden getting it prepared for the colder weather but all the time I've been doing this it has made me want to be down the allotment even more.

Anyway this was really to say a big thank you for all those people who have come to read my blog..and especially to those who come back to read a little more, comment and join. I am glad that you are enjoying and if there is anything you would like to see or for me to write about then just ask.

I am going to get down my allotment over the next couple of days and get it whipped into shape so watch this space for a beautiful weedless (well in my dreams!!) allotment!!!!!

  1. I know just how you feel - I've not been down to mine since a quick visit to harvest a few things. The weeds don't waste a minute!

  2. Good luck with the weeds. It seems to be a never-ending process in trying to keep them under control. It would be nice if our plants could be more like weeds: grow with little water, no nourishment, and FAST.
Good luck and I'm looking forward to the pictures.

  3. I've been looking at the Landshare website as a backup incase my allotment doesn't materialise. One offer described their land and added "all we ask if that you keep the veggie patch neat and tidy" : O 'ALL' we ask? Don't they know how quickly weeds grow? Think I'll hold out for the allotment ....

  4. Just keep doing what you're doing. You know what you want on your blog better than anyone else.

  5. I had a session tidying up my garden too. There's so much to do at the allotment, but the garden will be in a state too if that gets left.

  6. My garden was in a right state Jo..hence the reason it took me two days to sort it out...being laid up after an op. for a while at this time of year really wasn't good...think I'll schedule my next op. for the winter..lol

Little Lady Cakes...I don't think you can ever have fun weeding ...however there is a certain satisfaction and sense of achievement to
    clearing a space!!

tahtimbo...I really do think that nature got the weeds growing thing backwards..I vote for plants growing like weeds and vice versa...whilst we're at ti I would like to change the weekends and weeks about too.. :-)

Pixielation...I think if my weeds stopped growing i wouldn't have anything to do...wouldn't that be nice!!

Ratty...thanks for the comment..I just want to know my readers are going to come back. :-)

Tracey...I know what you mean...I was really scared about getting my allotment when I was told it had got to be 'Kept neat'...however they have been really good and the committee understand that weeds grow forever so there will always be some about!!

  7. It always intrigues me how I spend time and effort into growing my veg plants, but it is the weeds that grow best!
