80mph!!!!!!

Well that was the winds of yesterday and last night...so today was spent repairing a fence before it took a nose dive to the floor.

Not exactly fun...especially when concrete three foot thick had to be chiseled through but it is done and secure and the winds have now dropped to a much more humane 40mph.

The wind is my least favourite weather purely because it can be so destructive.

Luckily my allotment has stood firm and suffered no damage although someone's shed has blown over.

Hope you all haven't suffered with the wind.

  4. My new shed took a nose dive, so we have spent all day but down a concrete base, it's not going anywhere now!

  5. I've got tiles off the roof and the glass in my greenhouse blew out. I'm glad the winds have dropped now, it's my least favourite weather too.

  6. The wind was horrendous here too Tanya. Our bird feeding station was in bits (it isn't broken just came apart but our old bird table is in a sorry state - if you visit Martyn's weather blog you will see what i mean!

  7. Well it sounds like everyone suffered a little but not too much..A little bit of fixing is better than a major clean up....and at least your shed is nice and secure if we get another bout Fran..the winds have calmed down here tremendously now and we caught the fence in time so no major damage was done. Haven't been to the allotment today so i don't know if the winds of last night caused any damage but I will check later...Hope the weather is calming for the rest of you too.

  8. No damage here despite the high winds. I decided to delay the greenhouse repairs though as I thought I would lose whatever I put up.
