Weather Watch Wednesday...week 25....29/06/11....R.I.P. Eb's...some garlic and seed bargains.

Well I know I promised you a big picture post update and I promise you it will come but for today it's mainly about the weather.

The Heatwave hit on Sunday and we reached 29 degrees...33 degrees on Monday but since then the temperature has been more manageable at around 20-25 degrees.

Not much on the rain front really but enough to keep the ground damp beneath so I still haven't watered the plot!!

Evenings have been balmy ....winds not too bad and never getting above 25m.p.h.
So all in all a pretty decent June really!!

We lost another of our cats to an R.T.A. today...sad but these things happen...she will be sorely missed. xx

Ebony..my cat
My beautiful Ebony, She has been buried up the allotment next to her still missed sister
Tiger- Lily.

home grown garlic
This is a few of my garlic...I couldn't resist digging some to have a look and I am quite pleased with them.

reduced seeds
Seed sales have already started and i got some great bargains in Wilkinsons at either half price or 75% of...and well dated too!!

Well that's all for today.....those picture are soon to appear!!

  1. Aw, so sorry to hear about your cat. my thoughts are with you. She can now be your garden angel looking over things while you aren't there.
The garlic looks good. I wouldn't mind some of those balmy nights. We haven't had the best weather here. It's more like April weather than July

  2. Really sorry to hear about Ebony, she looked like a lovely cat.

You garlic looks very impressive, don't know what's happened with mine this year, bit initial investigations look very disappointing.

  5. Our garlic is pathetic. The heatwave came as a bit of a shock didn't it?

  6. I'm so sorry to hear about Ebony, it's heartbreaking to lose a pet, they become one of the family. Your garlic looks great. We don't use much garlic in cooking so I don't grow it.

  12. Your garlic is looking better than mine - my harvest has been quite disappointing this year. Mind you, I still have some left from last year.
