Nothing about the allotment!!!!

OK..so this is going to be a short and sweet post that has nothing to do with the allotment.

It's not that I don't have posts about the allotment that need writing because I have plenty but I want to introduce you to...well 'something' I suppose.

I would like all my readers to meet the newest member of our family!!

crested gecko
Mistletoe, a.k.a. Misty.

That's right....I have a new pet. I don't know exactly what sex it is but I refer to her as a 'she'. Misty is a Crested Gecko...only a baby at present but with a big personality and spoilt rotten. I love her to bits. Misty was a Christmas gift from my parents and Sister and Brother-in-law for Christmas and ever since I got her I have been meaning to introduce her to you all.

Mu Hubby isn't keen on her and won't have her near him but doesn't mind her hanging out in the lounge in her vivarium.

That's all for now...hope you all enjoyed meeting Misty and if you have any questions about her please don't hesitate to ask!!

  1. Misty looks like a wonderful little pet. My sister likes pets like her. She has several different little creatures in their habitats around her house.

    1. You got me there Sue...Misty is definitely a 'somebody'!!!! Sorry Misty!

Misty will grow to between 4-5 inches without her tail...so maybe 8-10 inches total length.

She is currently just over 6 inches long.

  4. She's lovely, and great name with her being a Christmas present. My daughter would love some kind of reptile but I think we've got enough pets to look after. How big will she grow and how old will she live to?

    1. I took a long time to give her just the right name Jo.

If you ever decided to get your daughter a reptile they are a lovely pet to have, very easy to keep and tame up to be handled easily.

She will become 8 - 10 inches when fully grown. As for how long she will live I'm not sure. They were thought extinct up until 1994 when they were rediscovered and some brought to captivity for breeding purposes. They are now a protected species and no more are allowed to be collecting form the wild but those fist collected are still healthy so they are thinking about 15-20 years in captivity.

Sorry that was probably way more information than you needed but I am quite passionate about my new family member..lol
