Friday Forecast...week 24.....15/06/12

Raindrops on Grannies Bonnet

Raindrops keep falling on my head!!!

Yes, that's pretty much the weather for the last week, lots of rain!!

It hasn't rained continuously but we have had rain on a daily basis, sometimes light and sometimes heavy.

The sun when it has managed to break through has been warm...we just haven't seen much of it and so for the past week woollies and coats have been needed.

The UK has been predicted to have 30 days of rain...then possibly a heatwave, so as usual we aren't doing things by halves.

On the upside, the hosepipe ban has been lifted country wide and we are officially no longer in 'drought' conditions, however most of the Country is on flood warnings and there have already been floods in places.

Oh well I guess the rain is good for the gardens.....not so good for wanting to be out working in them though.

Here's hoping we get some dry weather over the weekend so that i can get the brassicas in the ground....however I won't hold my breath over it!!

Have a good weekend.

  1. We managed a dry day yesterday - wel relatively so got some planting done.

    1. When it has been dry here the winds have been so strong i haven't wanted to attend the allotment...on the bright side though....the weather can't get much worse!!

  2. We had torrential rain again overnight. It can't make it's mind up what to do today. If only we could get a dry weekend.

    1. I'd settle for a little drizzle instead of the torrential downpours Jo.

  3. am hoping to have a dry spell to get nets over the fruit and plant some seeds!
lettuce loving this weather tho! and the peas have just gone crazy...

    1. My peas don't seem to want to show themselves...some re-sowing may be needed...but yes I am getting some wonderful lettuces!!

  4. Replies
    1. Thanks Annmarie...but I won't hold my breath!

  5. Wouldn't it be nice if you could control the weather with a flip of a switch?
You asked about what kind of glue I used on my wine glasses. It's called E-6000
As for the turtle soup I couldn't tell you what they use, I've never had it and I don't think I ever will :)

    1. I have a theory on that Ann...but that's for another post!

I did love those wine glasses...they would make a great gift.

I think you're wimping out on the soup!

keep it clean...keep it relevant...I look forward to reading your comments!!
