Friday Forecast...week 37....14/09/12

Misty morning over the fields
This photo was taken last Saturday morning just before the glorious weather hit us. This was a lovely thing to watch as the sun rose above the horizon out the front of my house.

Well after a beautiful weekend the weather turned...crummy!!

That's as polite as I can put it.

I have to get up in the dark and go to bed in the dark!!

The winds like to spend time howling round the house...the skies are more grey than blu and rain has been off and on again.

The temperatures have gone decreased by about 10 degrees celsius and although 15 is really sold you certainly feel it when they plummet 10 degrees overnight.

I feel the seasons really are about to change and so I need to get my butt into gear and get the allotment prepared for winter...hopefully I can start this weekend.

Praying for some sun and warmth!!

  1. We've just had a lovely week in Suffolk. I don't know how we have managed it but the weather was good all week. By good - I mean dry and sunny most of the time (some rain one evening and one night) if not exactly hot although at worst it was jumper weather and not coat weather

    1. Glad you had a nice week away Sue...I don't think it matters if it's not really warm as long as it's dry and you can enjoy things, and at least now I understand your absence in not replying to comments...lol

    1. Thanks Annmarie, I'm glad your plants are doing well...it's always a little bit more special to sit down and eat something you have grown yourself!!

    1. Well here's hoping that your weather isn't too bad for your vacation...or maybe rain everyday so you can curl up inside and do crafty things would be good too!!

  4. The last couple off days have been really cold here, I was contemplating putting the heating on, but the weather's improved again today. I hate this time of year when you don't really know what it's going to be like, you never know what to wear.

    1. I haven't thought about the heating yet but it really is a case of wondering what to wear all the time. I tend to layer up, my philosophy is you can always take it off if it warms up...but if you don't have it with you you can end up feeling miserable and cold!!

  5. Hello Tanya! Thank you for visiting and taking the time to leave a comment on my scones earlier this week!

That image reminds me of the Sherlock Holmes story I'm reading! I must admit though I kind of like that dark foggy weather...it is quite mysterious...quite perfect for writing I'd imagine.

Well, it was lovely meeting you! I will be back soon again!

    Toodles for now,
    Tammy<3

    1. Hi Tammy nice of you to drop by....I thought your recipe sounded great and will give it a go as soon as I get more walnuts in stock...it will keep my sons fingers out of the jar!!

I too love the fog and mist..it lets my imagination run wild as to what could be around me and makes me hear everything with so much more clarity.

Hope you pop by again some time!!

    1. Never thought of making watermelon rind pickles...you'll have to let me know how you get on and how they taste as it would be great not to waste the skin all the time.. (although that usually means giving it to the pigs!!)

  7. I think, that's not a bad idea for forecasting weather by checking Weather measuring instruments. For busy persons, it will be a perfect solution.
