Another tree I don't have a photo of is My Mum's Plum tree. She has a Victoria Plum tree in the garden, which has been there for as long as I can remember and has set so much fruit this year we are wondering what to do. A photo really wouldn't be able to show you but I might see if I can play around with the camcorder and get it up-loaded to my blog, honestly I have never seen anything like it on any tree before and I am intrigued to know if any of you may have seen a tree somewhere so heavily laden with fruit.
.
Well the crab apple blossom was phenomenal, and I have seen some miniscule plums. You are so far ahead.
ReplyDeleteTry Tuscan plum jam from "Under The Tuscan Gun" Youtube has got it - I've just checked! We're still eating ours from two years ago (Last year we hardly got any)
I will give that Jam a look Mal...always looking for new things to try!!
DeleteHope your fruit soon starts to set.
I've never seen a plum tree before this. There are apple trees all over in Michigan, where I used to live. I often had one or two of them.
ReplyDeleteI love the plums Ratty, the trees aren't huge but always provide plenty of fruit...I am hoping to get some good shots of My Mum's heavily laden tree so then you really will get a good look at it. I think I like all trees, they are all so unique and interesting when you take the time out to just actually Look at them.
DeleteAll this fruity talk on blogs - what is the world coming to.
ReplyDeleteOur Victoria is heavily laden this year but like yiy the apricot didn't even bother to flower! Having said that the nectarine was full of flower but bo fruit set!
Spices things up a bit doesn't it Sue!!
DeleteI wonder why we aren't getting anything on the apricot trees??
My Nectarine died many years ago and I haven't replaced it, maybe I will get some for the bee plot!
It looks like it's going to be a good fruit year for you. My cherry tree only has a few fruits and I expect the blackbirds will get to them before I do.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you beat the rids to your fruits...you could tie some crinkly paper ribbons to the branches and see if that keeps them away, having said that I often see the birds sat on the supposed 'bird scarer's'!!
DeleteYour pictures do look wonderful and I've now got a craving for a little fruit salad :)
ReplyDeleteI love fruit salad Ann but I'm generally too lazy to make one and just grab a whole piece of fruit to eat!!
