Not quite what I planned.......

Well today I planned on writing a post something more along the allotment lines...you know the kind of thing, plants, seedlings, germination, weeds!! Anything of that sort really.

But then.......

Torrential rain!!
Torrential rain!!
It really was quite horrific and coming down at such a force neither the gutters or drains could cope with it and everywhere started to flood.....including.....

So that put paid to the idea of visiting the allotment with the camera. I don't really know until I get to the allotment again whether it gave the plants a good soaking or a good battering. Fingers crossed that it's the former. Here's hoping for a little bit of a dryer day tomorrow!!

  1. We get sun and you get rain. I hope we can even it out a bit this year with nobody getting too much of one thing.

  3. Oh my! :O
We've been having some terrible down pours here too! I love rainy days but I'm worried that with so much water my plants will drown. :(

I certainly hope that is not the case...I keep meaning too but forgetting, one of these days I will put up some pics of my garden!

    1. I often wonder if with so much rain weather my root crops will rot before they germinate...but so far things are looking good so fingers crossed.

Yes please put up photos of your garden Tammy. xx

    1. I kind of like sitting inside watching the rain having said that it can be quite annoying when you really want to get outside and get things done!!

    1. We had that same again on Friday Sue. Hoping today it will hod of long enough for me to get a few thing done. I don't mind a little rain when I'm out there but the force that it keeps coming down with is even too much for me!

  6. We had a few showers yesterday but it's sunny again today, though there's a bit of a breeze. I could do with some rain to fill up my water butts, they're nearly empty.

    1. The problem with the rain Jo is it's coming down so hard it's jumping over the tops of the guttering's and not filling my water butts which like your are running low, at this rate I will have to re-fill them from the tap

    1. It is in such short sharp bursts that it isn't really too bad but you certainly don't want to get caught out in it!

  8. Dear Tanya, The rains came down in buckets here last week too!! It really is quite cool for this time of year, though I am not complaining. I like it a little cooler than too hot. Blessings dear friend. Catherine xo

    1. We too have the cooler weather...I am hoping it will warm up soon though in order to help set the crops ripening.

  9. P.S. Tanya, I used fresh fresh strawberries. I cleaned them first, then I froze them and then made the dessert. xo Catherine
