So anyway....enough of that!!
I will take you back in time a little as I did get the house decorated but not until a few days later than I first wanted and yes Sue....I did clean first...it's true you can't clean with all the decorations up...maybe this is a good point to remember next year lol!!

Christmas fairies, trees and trains. |
The tree all decorated and twinkly!. |
Boxing day dawned bright and crisp with snow reported for the evening by the met office and for once they were right and I was really happy that Tro got to experience his first snow as we didn't get any last winter. When I first let him out he looked up to the sky and a snowflake the size of my palm came down to land on his face which saw him running to hide under the carport...it was quite comical actually!!
Anyway with a little coaxing we managed to get him out into the open to experience the snow for real and he decided that it wasn't so bad after all.
Trojan playing in the snow and eating it!! |
The cold bothered us far more than Tro!! |
And he's off!! |
Quick check to make sure Mum's safe, |
And we can carry on...... |
Now LEAP!! |
Now back we go..... |
Ohhh??? What was that smell???? |
A little rest and a bit of a roll. |
Then a good shake!! |
And we're off again! |
Do you see that big grin on my face?!?! |
A quick refreshing chomp. |
And a final pose |
(We had a nice week between Christmas and New year. We all had time off work so it was nice to stay home and spend time together, we had Shona for a couple of weeks which Trojan enjoyed, we met up with friends and played cards and had a few drinks and food, we went out for lunch a couple of times and did a lot of slobbing about...it's nice to just be sometime, don't you think??)
......So last night we stayed home and saw the New Year in quietly, I'm not one for going out New Years eve...it costs far too much and I don't like the trouble that often comes with the amount of alcohol people consume.
It was a lovely evening and I wouldn't change it for the world!! Of course the first day of 2015 typically dawned drab and grey with some rain and the snow all gone...the winds are high and it is just generally unpleasant outside...I say bring back the crisp air, blue skies and snow!!
We spent the day with family though and it has been a nice laid back and relaxed affair to end the holidays.
Not long now before normality hits and we are back to work...on the plus side though the winter solstice has passed so slowly the days will get longer and we are now drawing closer to better weather!
I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas's and New Years and a hope we all have great things happen for us in 2015!!
You can see what a happy boy Trojan is playing in that snow. Your Christmas decorations look great.
ReplyDeleteI know how hard it can be sometimes to fit blogging in.
It's not getting any easier Ann...lol
DeleteLovely chatty post. I'm curious about what's in the cabinets on either side of your fireplace. Why sad because it was Trojan's first snow experience?
ReplyDeleteHi Tpals...in the cabinets at the side of my fire[lace the top shelves consist of two 'The crow' Figurines which is a now very old movie starring Brandon Lee ( I think!) and on the bottom shelves there is a fairy that my Nanny gave me many years ago and a little trinket box that has a donkey sat on it!!
DeleteI find it sad that Trojan had such a terrible start in life that he had two wait 6 years to experience snow!!
This reminds me of how my dog used to love playing in the snow only a couple of years ago. After last year's deep freeze with almost no snow she doesn't like winter much anymore. She goes out long enough to do what she has to do then is right back in. I miss all the fun she used to have.
ReplyDeleteLast year it was terribly cold here too but Trojan doesn't seem to mind the cold at all which is lucky for me as I love to walk for miles on cold frosty days and it's great that he likes to keep me company!!
DeleteDitto!
ReplyDeleteHappy
New Year!
Same to you Belinda.
DeleteHappy New Year, You had more snow than we did. We headed a few miles south of us and they too had lots so we had a trudge through theirs and had lots of opportunity to take potential next year's Christmas card photos. Lovely to see Trojan enjoying himself.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you git the decorating and cleaning in the correct order :)
One of my aims in life is to make sure Trojan enjoys every experience he encounters from now on!!

ReplyDeleteDoing good thanks tpals....thanks for stopping by even in my absence!!
DeleteHi Tanya! I've been thinking of your quite a bit lately. I cannot believe we are already into the second month of the New Year. Where did the time go.
ReplyDeleteIf looks as if you had a beautiful Christmas..and look at the snow! Trojan is a sweetie.
We've been cloaked in snow for a good month or so now, and I am tired of it. It is so cold and bitter and I just want to get into the garden and plan some days to go to the beach.
Wishing you all the best for the New Year. I hope this message finds you well. xo, Tammy<3
I know what you mean about it being into the second month of the year already and here I am only just thinking if writing another post...oops!!!
DeleteI hope you and your family had a lovely Christmas and new year too and I hope it soon warms up for you...
