What's wrong with the tomatoes???

I can't believe I've left it so long since I last posted...I've been very busy and I'm still on top of things but more about that in the next few posts...for now its a bit of a cry for help.

I went up the allotment yesterday and when I went in the greenhouse I was confronted with these sorry specimens...

Sorry they aren't great pictures but they were taken n my phone as it was the only thing I had handy but you can clearly see that they aren't looking there best. These were taken Monday...they were fine when I was at the allotment on Saturday so it happened in a couple of days....Any ideas??

The chilli and aubergine are looking a little the same bu everything else seem fine.

I have pricked out the better plants and re-potted them in the hopes that they recover so fingers crossed but in the meantime anyone who could give me some clues I would be very grateful too.

  1. I wish I could help, but I know almost nothing about plants. My dad would have known exactly what to do. He was a farmer all his life.

  2. Do you have any overnight heat in your greenhouse Tany? You should be safe now, but Jack Frost has been creeping around in the last week.

  3. I haven't got a clue. If I tried this that's how mine would most likely look

  4. We have had some frosty nights, Tanya maybe too cold. How wet are they? I’d sow more of I were you - it’s not too late.

  5. I'm only growing a couple of tomato plants this year but I've sown four seeds, they all germinated and got their first true leaves and now they look quite similar to yours. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the compost as I've had this happen in the past. I bought a bag of cheap compost this year as I don't have much seed sowing to do, that'll teach me! I just wanted to thank you for the lovely comment you left on my last post about the death of my mum, it was very much appreciated and helped so much to know that people were thinking of me at this sad time xx

  6. It looks like sun scorch or lack of water, could be the compost is too heavy. I had issues last year where they just stopped at the first leaf stage.

Nice blog, I've added a link to you on mine, you can see it here, hope that's ok https://dickysfarm.blogspot.com/ Dicky

keep it clean...keep it relevant...I look forward to reading your comments!!
