The weather has warmed up and we have reached double figures...only just but I will take whatever I can get.
With the warmth has also come the rain and some winds which is a little unfortunate but it has been nice not to have to put on six layers just to walk out the door.
I don't know if the warmth is here to stay but I did make the most of it and the short dry spell we had yesterday afternoon by taking a quick visit to the allotment.
I found some good and bad points and got a couple of jobs completed which I was very pleased about.
Enjoy progress in pictures!! :-)
Out of the trap like a greyhound, Tany.
ReplyDeleteGet ahead... get a cranberry?
Huh Mal??? Maybe it's too early but I just don't get it?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to be getting any jobs done on the lottie at the moment. I still haven't checked on my broccoli, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteOur soil is just far too wet to do anything - if I try to weed I end up with soggy fingers and mud stuck to weed roots. Things will have to wait!
ReplyDeleteLOl, I would love to have cranberries here but I think they need a period of cold and not sure(although they would have been fine this winter!) if we get cold enough here.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute! Where did all your snow go? Don't you know you aren't supposed to see dirt for at least two more months?
ReplyDeleteJo...if it's nice this weekend I am sure I can find something else to do that will make me feel like I am preparing for the spring.
ReplyDeleteGLA....My soil is very wet too but I had lots of fun attempting to dig it...but boy do my shoulders know about it!

how cold was your weather this winter?? How warm does it usually stay?
tpals....The snow went and hopefully it will stay away...give me dirty brown over sparkling white any day!!!!!
Your arrangement for growing runner beans looks very scientific - you ought to get a good crop with the aid of all that manure.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling smug that my sprouting broccoli is doing better than yours - though evidently you have more of it! :)
