Hope you managed to get your fork in the ground at some point. Quilting a blanket sounds lovely, although I have no idea how to di it I think it requires quite a lot of sewing which isn't my favourite thing so I will stick with my knitting!!

You have more snow than I do right now. And I'm in a part of my country that is known for having a lot of snow. Last year there was so much snow here that it caused bad flooding last spring. There was still standing water from that flooding when I got here last fall. This year we've had almost no snow.

The snow arrived here yesterday. It was forecast to start around 6pm but it actually started at lunchtime and didn't let up until I was going to bed. We've had quite a covering, you can't see Archie's legs when he's out in it. He's just been out for a walk and has come in covered in snowballs where it all sticks to his long fur, it's so hard to get off him. It's started to thaw now, though I don't think it will all go just yet.

No snow here, but was awfully cold when I tried to go down to the allotment mid-week - couldn't get the fork in (and we've got sandy soil there). Knitting sounds like a fine thing to be doing when you're in the middle of a cold spell. It's a bit cold here but not really that close to freezing.. Though when I see your front garden it makes me wish for just a sprinkle of it here too :)

They are always coming up with scientific reasons Ratty. I say nature is a force all of it's own and will hit us with whatever it feels like at the time. Mild winters are nice, but not so great for killing off any bugs you may have in the soil...always a catch 22 situation!

I am not a fan of the snow....it's pretty as it falls but then it is just lots of work and ugliness as it get's 'dirtied' up. Glad you aren't having to shovel too much!
